Morgan Technical Ceramics, a leading manufacturer of ceramic components, has achieved the internationally-recognised Health and Safety (OHSAS 18001:2007) industry certification at its manufacturing site in Stourport, Worcestershire. It has been awarded the British Industry Standard in recognition of its excellent safety management systems.

Customers can be assured that best practice is employed throughout the company and that it is a responsible manufacturer, taking a legal, ethical and moral approach in all its activities. Compliance with the Health and Safety Standard confirms the company not only fully conforms to industry legislation for the health and safety of its staff, but also addresses the health and safety all persons on the site, including contractors and visitors.

“Supporting our employees is a key objective in developing the business and their health and safety is a priority,” says Steve Salter, operational compliance manager, Morgan Technical Ceramics. “In the last 12 months we have developed existing procedures and practices and provided training where appropriate. I’m delighted that we have achieved the standard following the demanding assessment process.”

The assessment takes into account how the company manages operational risks and improves performance, as well as carefully considering the company's policies for accident prevention, risk reduction and the well-being of its employees. Passing demonstrates that Morgan Technical Ceramics takes health and safety seriously and continually looks at new ways to improve its standards.
