History

There has been ceramic component manufacture at the Stourport-on -Severn site for over 75 years (since 1929). We have listed below some of the key dates in the development of our site.

1929 - Steatite and Porcelain Products. Factory built by German Conglomerate Stemag. Housing was provided for workers who were mainly moved into the area from South Wales

1941 - Sold to a subsidiary of ICI

1964 - Acquired by Morgan Crucible Company as their first venture into Technical Ceramics

1984 - Creation of Morgan Matroc to encompass Stourport, Park Royal, Anderman, Unilator and Barcelona

1993 - Major restructuring of the site following a devastating fire on June 13th

1999 - Transfer of Park Royal Division from Sandy to Stourport

2003 - Ceramic injection moulding facility created

2004 - Stourport becomes European centre of excellence for MTC materials production
